Venezuela vs Brazil Preview

Venezuela have lost two and drawn three of their previous five matches, scoring just three times in that period. That includes a humiliating 4-0 loss to Bolivia in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Brazil have won three of their last five games, losing just once to Paraguay. Brazil have also scored seven goals in the last five matches and they are backed for another win against Venezuela.

Head to Head

Brazil are currently leading the head-to-head, having won nine out of the 13 matches. The rest were drawn.

This stat translates to a 69% win rate for the Selecao Canarinho in all international competitions.

Venezuela Form

The La Vinotinto currently sit in 8th position in qualifying with 11 points, having won two and recorded five losses in the ten matches in qualifying.

Venezuela have scored eight goals and conceded 10 in the same period, with their worst defeat coming against Bolivia.

There might be a beacon of hope as Venezuela’s two qualifier wins have come at home. The first was against Paraguay, and the other was against Chile as they won 3-0.

Venezuela Team News

While important players like Jhonder Cadiz and Eduard Bello are back in action, Venezuela will miss their centre back Yordon Osorio, who is out of the squad due to injury. He has been replaced by Wilker Angel.

Brazil Form

Brazil have won five and lost four of their ten matches in the qualifiers, drawing once to Venezuela in Round 1.

This run of form puts them in 4th position with 16 points with a four-point difference between them and leaders Argentina.

Dorival Junior’s side have scored 15 goals and conceded 9, with their highest goal tally coming against Bolivia in their 5-1 victory last year.

Brazil have won three of their four games in the qualifiers this year, putting them on an impressive run of form.

Their most emphatic victory was their 4-0 win against Peru, with Raphina, Pereira and Henrique appearing on the scoresheet.

Brazil Team News

While Brazil have named veterans like Vinicius Jr, Raphina, and Marquinhos, Endrick has been left out of the squad due to a lack of game time in club football.

Neymar Jr has also been left out of the squad to allow him time to recover after being on the sidelines for one year due to an ACL injury.

In addition to the absentees, Eder Militao is a doubt for the game, having suffered a cruciate ligament tear. The same fate may befall Rodrygo, who is battling muscle injury.

Verdict

Venezuela are suffering a poor run of form compared to Brazil. Having lost two and drawn their other two games this year, it’s unfathomable for them to steal a win against a side with a form as Brazil’s at the moment.

I'm predicting Brazil to continue their impressive form with a win against Venezuela.
