Meanwhile, Barcelona have won five of their last seven games, including the El Clasico, where they won 4-0 against Real Madrid. Hansi Flick’s men thwarted Real Madrid’s attack as they couldn't convert any of the four big chances created.
Head to Head
Barcelona are leading the head-to-head with 10 wins in the previous 20 meetings. Celta Vigo won just five, drawing the rest.
Robert Lewandowski scored in the 90+7 minute to seal the 2-1 victory for Barcelona in their last meeting in February.
Celta Vigo Form
Claudio Giraldez’s side are one of the three worst sides in La Liga in terms of defeats this season having suffered six losses.
They have won five and drawn two of 13 games, which puts them in 11th with 17 points. They are only one point above Rayo Vallecano, who have a game in hand.
Celta Vigo are coming into this on the back of a well deserved 2-2 draw against Real Betis and a 1-0 win over Getafe before the international break.
A few days before the Getafe match, Celta Vigo were also victorious against UD San Pedro in the Copa Del Rey, beating them 5-1 to advance to the next round. The game featured an early goal from Gonzalez as well as a brace from Douvikas.
Celta Vigo Team News
Celta Vigo will be without Luca de la Torre, who developed an ankle injury in September. Meanwhile, Jailson may miss the clash due to adductor pain.
Barcelona Form
Hansi Flick's side began the season by winning their first five games of the season by at least two goals. Their biggest win in that period was against Real Valladolid, where Raphina bagged a hat trick to contribute to their 7-0 win.
Another was the 4-1 win over Girons when Lamine Yamal scored a brace in the 30th and 37th minute to lead the charge.
Barcelona’s Champions League form has been no different as they have won their last two games against Bayern Munich and Crvena Zvezda by three goals.
Their last league game ended in a disappointing 1-0 defeat away to Real Sociedad despite having the majority of the ball possession.
Barcelona Team News
Barca are missing several key players. Ter Stegen has been unavailable for selection since he suffered a patellar tendon rupture against Villareal.
Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandoski are unlikely to start due to injuries earlier in the month. Also, Ansu Fati sustained a muscle injury during training.
Though Ronald Araujo has been out since July, Flick has declared him fit, so he may be available for selection.
Verdict
Barcelona are on an incredible run of form this season. Despite the possibility of key players missing the clash, I’m backing them to win against Celta Vigo on Saturday.
